Resilience

· reflection

We are resilient

as trees

we sway and give

with the forces of life

we ground and get

uprooted

some days we even

topple over

We carry old stories

in the trunks

of our beings
every ring, every layer

tells our history

When we are still

we capture the whispers

of life's wisdom

on the breezes

When we are moved

we come alive

to nature's music

We are the strength

of ancient forests

We rise tall, solid

certain

Only sky and light

are there to greet us
